Potten End played and The Engineer Harpenden maintained their unbeaten starts with a 2-2 draw in the West Herts League Premier Division at the weekend.

Both teams came into the contest unbeaten so far this season but Harpenden’s run looked to be under threat when Ben Pearce lobbed in the opener.

Harpenden were look level when Ben Warren made it 1-1 before the break, and they edged ahead with just 10 minutes to go through Tom Beasley.

Both sides were to maintain their records though as Dale Jenkins converted a retaken penalty, having missed the first disallowed effort, to seal it at 2-2.

Meanwhile, a hat-trick from Samba Gueye helped Croxley Community to a 5-2 win over Langleybury Cricket Club.

Joe Perrin and Harry Brock added the others while Ollie Ilott and Leon Mason netted for Langleybury.

Hunton Bridge moved up to second in Division One after a 5-1 win away at Evergreen ‘A’.

Archie Mboto’s hat-trick was added to be Joe Zazzera and Dan Moss, while Aiden Stockwell netted the consolation for Evergreen.

Brett Whitehead scored a brace for Global AFC to help them to a 2-1 win away Oxhey ‘A’, who replied through Ali Thomas.

Elsewhere, Croxley Green moved up to fourth after Dan Walsh’s winner gave them a narrow 1-0 win over Sun Sports Rovers, and Chesham United (Youth) Mens ended a run of three straight losses with a 3-3 draw against Hemel Hempstead Rovers Reserves.

Josh babumba, Ewan Philpott and James Waller netted for Green while Reece Phillips’ brace and an own goal levelled it for Hemel.

Caddington were another side without a win for three games but made amends with a thumping 11-0 home win against bottom side Oxhey Academy.

James Anthony Ray scored six while John Cartwright, Thomas Payne, Jonnie Shoemaker, Martin Stevens and Connor Arnold also found the net.

Hemel Hempstead Rovers secured a comprehensive 8-0 win against Evergreen Reserves in the Herts FA County Junior Cup First Round.

Marcus Tower and Asher Alleyn gave Rovers a two-goal cushion at the break, but in the second half Charlie Rance, Tom Dean, Daniel Perry, Tower and an Alleyn brace completed the rout.

Finally, Croxley Community Reserves also grabbed a cup win as they beat Aylesbury & District Division 1 side Tring Corinthians AFC Development.

James Philpott scored twice along with Nick Rogers, Alex Simmonds and Billy Bywater to set up a round two tie against another Aylesbury & District League side in Long Marston.
