A sixth defeat of the season saw Watford's winless run go into week 11 of the Premier League.

A late Gerard Deulofeu penalty, generously awarded by VAR, halved the deficit, but by that point goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic had all but sealed their fate.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Ben Foster - 8

The goalkeeper produced a string of vital saves to keep the scores down and came close to snatching a point at the end with a diving header.

Without him between the posts, things might have looked far bleaker.

Daryl Janmaat - 6

A typical performance from Janmaat saw him defend fairly well and get forward on occasion. Was unable to produce anything too threatening however.

Craig Cathcart - N/A

Picked up an injury early on and was substituted as a result.

Craig Dawson - 5

Fell asleep and lost Abraham for the first goal and was nowhere to be seen for the second. Produced some good work inbetween however.

Christian Kabasele - 6

Lost track of Pulisic for goal number two, but was probably the strongest of the three at the back.

Adam Masina - 6

Got forward well enough and was a rare source of creativity. He got caught out of position for the second goal, but that was not entirely his fault, as other defenders failed to close down Willian.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 6

After a torrid opening ten minutes in which he gave the ball away several times and conceded a very silly free-kick, Chalobah sharpened up and looked much more effective from that point on.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 5.5

Defensive work was somewhat lacking and his driving forward was not what the Watford fans have come to expect. Inconsistent and a bit frustrating.

Roberto Pereyra - 5.5

A fairly bland performance from Pereyra, who created little going forward. At times looked like he had given up the ghost a bit.

Gerard Deulofeu - 7

Converted the penalty well after winning it fortuitously. He worked the Chelsea defenders hard on occasions, but his decision making was at times both questionable and selfish.

Andre Gray - 6

Worked hard in a position he obviously does not enjoy playing. Another joyless night in the centre for him.

Substitutes:

Adrian Mariappa - 5

Looked out of his depth at times after coming on. Allowed the Chelsea players too much space to play in.

Will Hughes - 5

Failed to make an impact after replacing Chalobah.

Kiko Femenia - N/A

Joined the game too late to make much of an impact.
