Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru featured in Nigeria Under 23s' goalless draw with South Africa that saw them crash out of the U23 African Cup of Nations.

The former Manchester City midfielder was brought off the bench for the final 15 minutes of the tie on Friday evening, but was unable to help his side make the breakthrough before the game finished in a draw.

The Super Eagles needed a win to progress to the semi-finals and maintain their chance of appearing at the Olympics, with the top three sides in the tournament rewarded with a place at the games in Tokyo next summer.

However, they were unable to find the net in the game and as a result, they finished third in Group B behind Ivory Coast and South Africa.
