Watford supporters have voted in favour of keeping their original crest, following a search to find a potential replacement.
The vote was narrowed down to two choices after more than 4,000 submissions, but in the end supporters decided in a public vote, that was split 60/40, that the original was the best.
One of the fan submissions will be used in some commercial capacity, but the club shirts will keep the current logo for the foreseeable future.
Spencer Field, the club’s global strategy & partnerships director, told the club website: “The initiative has thrown up some opportunities for the club. In particular, we will be utilising one of the 4,000 designs for retail/merchandising purposes.
“Very few of you will have seen the relevant design, as it was never suitable as the club’s official badge, but we think it will modernise our fashion range and we look forward to unveiling it in 2020.”
