Happiness and growing optimism were among the emotions at the final whistle as Watford further fuelled their chances of escaping Premier League relegation with a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Although the Hornets had to play the majority of the second half with 10 men after Adrian Mariappa was sent off, they were the better side throughout and secured a comfortable and confidence-boosting victory courtesy of Troy Deeney's brace and a Ismaila Sarr goal.
