Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo has to completed a dramatic transfer deadline day loan move to Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua.

The Watford Observer has learnt from sources close to Shanghai that a deal to sign the Nigerian on loan for the rest of season has been finalised and the player will fly out of China tomorrow.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are in the market for a new forward to cover the injured Marcus Rashford and failed in a bid to sign Bournemouth’s Joshua King earlier today.

This has seen United step up their interest in the forward after he was first linked with a potential move to Old Trafford this week.

The 30-year-old, who left the Hornets for Changchun Yatai three years ago today, is currently in pre-season training with Shenhua, however the Coronavirus outbreak has led to the  start of the new Chinese Super League season being delayed.

Sky is also claiming Tottenham Hotspur have made a late move to sign Ighalo on loan, but this is not expected to be successful now a deal has been agreed.
