Watford’s squad is almost back to full-strength ahead of this weekend’s game with Liverpool, with Daryl Janmaat likely to be the only player not in contention.

Kiko Femenia should be available for selection, while Ismaila Sarr is once again in a position to start after coming off the bench at Old Trafford last week.

Head coach Nigel Pearson said he had “no injury doubts really” ahead of this week, however earlier in the week Janmaat himself said he would be unavailable as he continues to recover.

When asked if Sarr was closer to returning after describing him as “nowhere near ready” following the defeat to Manchester United, Pearson said: “Much closer. The squad’s had a good week.”

With players returning, the head coach is pleased to have options at his disposal again, particularly in midfield with Tom Cleverley returning and Will Hughes also now available.

“Yeah, he’s done well when he’s been in the side,” he said of Nathaniel Chalobah, before adding: “As has Will Hughes.

“If you remember, Chalobah took over from Will Hughes who was doing very very, well until he got injured, so we’ve got competition for places. Cleverley’s back involved as well, so it’s nice to have healthy competition.”

Another player pushing for a start this weekend could be Femenia who was declared fit before the trip to Old Trafford but didn’t end up playing a part.

Pearson said he would be available for Saturday's game.
