Will Hughes has acknowledged Watford’s form at Vicarage Road will be “massively important” as they continue their fight to maintain their Premier League status.

The Hornets are currently out of the drop zone on goal difference, but their home record provides optimism for the run-in, starting with Saturday’s next test against Leicester City.

Peaking with in the superb 3-0 victory over champions-elect Liverpool in their last outing, Watford have only been beaten once in their last seven Premier League matches at Vicarage Road and have kept clean sheets in five of those games.

Five of the Hornets’ nine remaining fixtures are at home and Hughes told the club website: “Going into the last nine, every game is huge now. We’ll look to win every game, home and away, but the likelihood is that the home form is going to be massively important.

“At home we are capable of anything, as we showed against Liverpool. Our away form has been a bit off-ish lately which is frustrating, but we are a real threat at home and we are keen to keep that going against Leicester.

“The fans play such a big part, especially against Liverpool. After we scored the first goal, they really helped push us through.”
