Six people from three Premier League clubs have tested positive for Covid-19 from tests carried out over Sunday and Monday.

In a bid to remain transparent, the league announced yesterday that it would be publicly declaring any positive cases from tests carried out, but would not be revealing any names or clubs.

From the first round of testing, the league confirmed the positive results and that those who had tested positive would now be isolating for seven days.

The league will be testing all club staff members and players twice a week from now on to ensure that the return of football, which is currently expected to take place some time next month, does not risk spreading the virus further.

Forty tests will be carried out at each club in each session.
