Watford Ladies have confirmed the departure of Andrea Carid, who will return to Spain this summer.

The 2019/20 Fans’ Player of The Season leaves the Golden Girls after two seasons with the club, where she made 42 appearances.

Speaking to the club website, she said: “I would like to say goodbye to all our amazing fans. You have all been incredible with me since I joined Watford.

“Thank you for supporting, trusting and working so hard to help me. I had people at the club that were always there for me when I needed it and I really appreciate that.

“It has been difficult at times, being so far from home and other parts of life, so everyone’s support has meant so much but it is time to move back home.

“Thanks for everything, you deserve the best and I wish you all good luck next season. I will forever be a Watford fan.”

Carid scored 12 goals during her time at Watford, including a memorable match-winning header at Plymouth Argyle in a dramatic 5-4 victory.

Watford Ladies head coach Clinton Lancaster said: "

“Andrea was a huge part of this club, on and off the pitch. She had a great attitude, and everything you could ask for in a player. She will be missed.”
