Watford will play their first game at Vicarage Road since February this Saturday in their only home friendly before the Premier League resumes next week.

No football has taken place in England since March when the coronavirus outbreak brought the country to a halt, while no games have been played at Vicarage Road since Watford's famous 3-0 victory over Liverpool at the end of February.

Now the Hornets will host a yet-to-be-confirmed opponent as they step up their preparations for their first game back against Leicester City the following weekend.

Clubs were given the green light to arrange friendly matches last week, after the league confirmed the June 17 restart date, providing they meet the league's safety requirements.

The league sent guidelines to its 20 member teams last Tuesday outlining restrictions, including the need for a full risk assessment to take place before matches and that members of staff would have to officiate instead of referees.

Clubs are not allowed to travel more than 90 minutes for these friendly games, which players must go to in their own cars as social distancing and hygiene measures are implemented.

The game will be played behind-closed-doors.
