YET another academy prospect has been promoted with Worcester Warriors gearing up for the return of rugby.

Hooker Beck Cutting has become the fifth member of this season’s Three Pears Warriors Academy to be promoted to the senior squad at Sixways for the 2020/21 season.

Cutting, 21, has already made seven senior appearances since joining the Senior Academy, four of them this season including the Premiership Rugby Cup matches against Leicester Tigers and Exeter Chiefs.

The former England Under-20s international has also gained valuable senior experience on dual registrations with Bishop’s Stortford, Hartpury, Birmingham Moseley and Jersey Reds in recent seasons and is highly-regarded by Warriors’ Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

"Beck is a terrific young prospect. He is a superb footballer, who has the physical attributes to make it as a hooker at top level." Solomons said.

"I believe that joining the senior ranks as a full-time professional will see him take huge strides in his game.

"Beck is a terrific bloke and yet another home grown young Academy lad who has come through the system.

"I have no doubt that he will play a big role in the future of the club and I look forward to working with him."

Cutting follows lock James Scott, full-back Nick David, wing Alex Hearle and back-row forward Tom Dodd in graduating to the senior squad in recent weeks.

"It’s been amazing being on the journey with boys you’ve grown up with and shared a lot of your rugby experiences with." Cutting said.

"Everyone’s a good bloke and they want to work with you to help you improve.

"Every now and then a tough word makes you want to work that much harder a bit like the Last Dance.

"But it’s been a wicked experience and I’m excited to progress."

Cutting played for England in the 2018 World Rugby Under-20s Championship where he scored a try against Scotland before they were edged out by hosts France in the final.

Cutting is about to start the final year of a degree in Sport and Social Science at Bath University.
