Watford players Adrian Mariappa and Adekite Fatuga-Dada have been presented with PFA community champions awards for their work within the community this season.

Both have previously won the award before, but have been given the title again due to the quantity and quality of their engagement with members of the public, whether that be appearances with the club’s official charity – Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, or initiatives such as Junior Hornets and Hornets at Home.

The PFA Community Champion Award aims to raise awareness of the great support that PFA members provide to their club’s community activities during the season.

Watford's Community Director, Rob Smith said of the award: “Adekite and Adrian are two fantastic role models for young people in our communities, they consistently showcase the values of Watford FC, the original family club. This year this has been as evident as ever, meeting fans of the club of course but also inspiring those that don’t have an affiliation with us through football.

"I am particularly grateful for their support at our celebration event earlier this year, speaking on stage about their commitment to the community and why supporting the work of the Trust is so important. This trophy was the least we could do to acknowledge the contribution they have both made.”
