In an interview for the club website, the full-back said he was an attacking player who was "over the moon" to be at Watford.

Asked what he would be bringing to the club, he said: "Excitement, that's what I would say.

"I would say I'm a pacey skillful attacking full-back.

"I'm absolutely over the moon to be at a great club like Watford. When I heard Watford wanted me, it really stood out to me because if a great club like Watford wants me, it's a great achievement honestly."

Ngakia said he was attracted to the Hornets because he feels he has a good chance of progressing as a youngster, following the example of his former West Ham teammate Domingos Quina, who he will team up with once again.

"As you can see, there's a lot of young talent starting to come to Watford," he said. "The likes of Domingos [Quina] Tom Dele [Bashiru] they're starting to come to Watford because there's clearly a pathway to the first team here and that's what I think I need at this moment in my career.

"I like it a lot, I think it's a great place for me to develop. 100 per cent."
