Troy Deeney is not actively looking to leave Watford – but says he will “take it on the chin” if the club decide its time to part ways.

The Hornets skipper has been at Vicarage Road for ten years, but admitted he was unsure about his future after Watford’s relegation had been confirmed with the final day 3-2 defeat at Arsenal.

Speaking on talkSport this morning, Deeney said: “Watford is my club, I’ve been there 10 years now. I’m not going to actively look to leave or anything of that nature.

“I was talking to the missus about it yesterday. I had an opportunity to go to Leicester when they’d just won the league, obviously with Champions League football, I never asked to leave then, so why would I ask to leave now.

“If the club decide that we need to go our separate ways, it is what it is, I’m a big boy and I can take it on the chin.”

Ten years of Troy Deeney

Deeney has become a Hornets legend during his decade at Vicarage Road, netting 133 goals to make him the fourth highest scorer in the club’s history.
