Abdoulaye Doucoure is likely to leave Watford this summer but it remains unclear where his future lies, the Watford Observer understands.
The French midfielder reportedly wants to depart Vicarage Road following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
We have been told the 27-year-old is likely to get his wish and a move back to the Premier League is the most probable outcome, but it is not the only option with a deal yet to be agreed.
Everton have continued their pursuit of the former Rennes midfielder, despite having an opening bid rejected, but it has been claimed the clubs remain some distance apart in their valuation of the player.
The Toffees tried to sign Doucoure last summer but were knocked by the Hornets.
However, Carlo Ancelotti’s s side have made a fresh move this summer and have seen their hand potentially strengthened by Watford’s relegation from the top flight.
