Villarreal are close to an agreement with Watford over the signing of Pervis Estupinan the Watford Observer understands.
The Ecuadorian left back originally joined the Hornets back in 2016, but is yet to feature in a competitive fixture for the club after several loan moves.
He was unavailable for last night's win over Middlesbrough with the club stating he had a minor knock, although after the game head coach Vladimir Ivic said he hoped to have the defender at his disposal soon.
Talks are understood to be at an advanced stage regarding a deal which could reach a figure of £15million, should it go ahead.
Brighton are also believed to have made their interest known, but the player prefers the option of returning to La Liga where he played for Osasuna last season.
