Watford striker Andre Gray has reportedly apologised after holding a poker party during lockdown.

The striker was quoted in the Sun on Monday evening as saying that the gathering was "deeply regrettable" after footage emerged of him and his friends having a gathering at his home.

It is the second time Gray has breached coronavirus regulations, after it was revealed he had held a birthday party at his home in June.

He was dropped from the first team for his participation in the get together during the summer.

However, he has now apologised for a second time after a further breach of lockdown rules.

The forward had gone off with a hamstring injury during the game against Preston earlier the same day.

Gray told the Sun: “On Saturday evening I hosted a small gathering at my home.

“In hindsight, it was incredibly naïve to do so and is deeply regrettable.

“I would like to wholeheartedly apologise.”
