Watford head coach Xisco Munoz has offered on loan striker Glenn Murray an olive branch, shortly before the January transfer window.

The Brighton and Hove Albion forward has struggled for game time since arriving on loan earlier this season and consideration had been given to the Hornets allowing him to cut his deal short.

It is understood that Murray is not happy at Watford, having not played since an away game at Wycombe Wanderers in October when he came off the bench and that a return to Brighton was one of a number of options being explored.

While that still remains a possibility, Munoz feels his squad would be better for having Murray present and available.

“I think he’s good for us,” said the head coach. “Every time one guy is coming in, it’s better for the group and most important is that the leaders, and the persons can stay in our group and they have the chance to communicate immediately and the good adaptation with the group, with their new city and they can give their best for us.”

While Murray is unlikely to feature this weekend away at Swansea City, injured defenders Christian Kabasele and William Troost-Ekong could be set for a return, along with Brazilian forward Joao Pedro.

While Munoz did not want to give too much away, he did hint at some recoveries.

“I don’t like too much to speak about the injury situation about players,” he said. “For the next game they’re ready.”

One player who could be making an appearance again some time soon is striker Isaac Success, who Munoz is hoping to ease back in "step by step" after he returned to training this week.

"He started training with us, step by step," said Munoz. "He needs time. I'm very happy with him because the last training session he was at a good level, but step by step. Sometimes, when one player is coming back after an injury, you need [to take it] step by step and we will see."
