Joao Pedro and Craig Cathcart have returned to training for Watford, while no players have tested positive for Covid-19.

The club released an injury update ahead of their FA Cup third round clash away at Manchester United, revealing that the two senior players are now back in full-time training after recovering from their respective hamstring problems.

Meanwhile, Domingos Quina, Isaac Success, Stipe Perica and Christian Kabasele are not expected back for trip to Old Trafford.

On those players, the club said: "Three further players who’ve also suffered hamstring complaints are at different stages of their rehab. Domingos Quina has just started to run outside this week, while strikers Isaac Success and Stipe Perica are both a few weeks away from returning to full training.

"Christian Kabasele has missed the last two games with a knee problem, and this continues to be monitored with an imminent return not expected for the centre-half."

This week also saw the club undergoing stricter testing for coronavirus as the EFL introduced more stringent measures to prevent the virus from spreading.

Clubs are now to be tested twice a week to try and prevent their players from contracting the virus and infecting others.

The Hornets said: "The club is pleased to report no positives from yesterday’s latest round of COVID-19 testing, a programme due to be stepped up in frequency as per yesterday’s announcement from the EFL."
