Marc Navarro feels Watford are getting better under new head coach Xisco Munoz and that they showed improvement during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

The Hornets have won one and lost two under the new boss, but have had three difficult fixtures so far since his arrival.

A run of games Watford will feel are more winnable now follows and the full-back told the club website he hopes they can continue their hard work.

“We did good work and we have to continue like this,” said Navarro. “We know it was going to be a difficult game. We know it was hard but I think the team played very good. We had chances to win and we tried for the victory for the fans.

“We are very happy with the new coach. We have to try to play better, but we have not had too much time to play together. We are in a good way and Xisco knows what we can do. We can improve.”

Navarro filled in for full-back Kiko Femenia in a much-changed side at Old Trafford and performed well against a side hoping to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

He hopes he will get more chances throughout the remainder of the season.

“For sure I am happy to play in Watford and I am happy to be after Kiko,” he said. “He is a very good player and very important to the team. We all just want to help the team and I am ready for when Xisco says I am ready to play.”
