Watford were far from at their best, but still got the job done as they beat Stoke City 2-1 away from home.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Daniel Bachmann - 7

Some solid saves kept the hosts out, not a lot he could've done about the goal.

Adam Masina - 5

An off night for the full back, who made a mistake in the build-up to Stoke's goal as well as others, particularly in the first half.

Francisco Sierralta - 7

Another fine display from a player who is fast becoming one of the first names on the team sheet.

William Troost-Ekong - 6

Looked to bring the ball forward when he could. A good night's work.

Kiko Femenia - 5

Another who wasn't at their best, particularly going forward. Frustrated with some negative backwards passing from set pieces.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 5.5

Benefited from having both Hughes and Cleverley on the pitch with him. Got forward on a couple of occasions and was unlucky not to score in the first half.

Tom Cleverley - 6

A tough night for Cleverley who was deployed almost in two positions at once, both in the centre and out wide. Adapted well however.

Will Hughes - 6.5

His defensive work was good and he looked a cut above the others in midfield before he was substituted.

Ismaila Sarr - 7

Took his goal magnificently and played his part in the opening strike as well. Much better in the second half.

Joao Pedro - 5.5

Struggled to get into the game. Had a couple of bright moments, but on the whole had a difficult evening.

Troy Deeney - 8

Produced the goods when it mattered most. Created the chance that led to the penalty, converted the spot kick and set up the second goal. Three outstanding moments that essentially won the match.

Phillip Zinckernagel - 5

Found it difficult to get into the game after his introduction

Craig Cathcart - 5

Was thrown into a frantic final 15 minutes of the game and Stoke took advantage while he was taking time to adapt.

Jeremy Ngakia - 5

Allowed a few crosses to get into the box from his flank after his arrival.

Ben Wilmot - N/A

Andre Gray - N/A

Players have to have played for more than 15 minutes to get a rating.
