Xisco Munoz has asked for all of his players to give "a little more" in their bid to turn Watford's fortunes around.

Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Coventry City at the weekend, the head coach said it was "normal" to see his side not winning every single game, but agreed that more needed to be done to improve their form.

The draw was the third match in a row that Munoz's men came away without a victory, a run they will need to change soon if they are to achieve their goal of automatic promotion, something Munoz claims will be not be possible without improvement from everyone.

"I think the level we played before was a big level. And that's normal," said Munoz. "No one was thinking we'd win all the games, from the first game until the final. I think no one.

"We need to know what is our level. We need to know what is our objective and then everyone needs to work a little more to find our objective. If we don't give this, everyone giving this little bit more, it's impossible."

Asked if he felt his team looked more positive after he had made his substitutions, the Spaniard said he did not agree that their introduction made his side more attacking.

Instead, he argued that his team pressed high throughout the game, but said they still needed time to adapt to his style after starting the season playing more defensively.

"I don't agree with you because I think today the team was trying to push up every time," he said. "They tried to recover the ball more up the pitch.

"You have the risk behind you, it's normal. But when I arrived the team was every time in the penalty area and now we try every time to stop. It's totally different. We changed 100 per cent, everything. And with our team every time trying to push up and trying to recover the ball, you have you have a little disorder, of course, because we're working seven weeks, eight weeks and this is a total change.

"We need time but we can give more better, we can play better. Sure."

The Hornets are currently fifth in the Championship table, with six points now separating them from the top two places.

However, Munoz does not want to speak about his side's chances of automatic promotion just yet, with plenty of games still left to be played.

"I don't want to speak more about the playoffs," he said. "Right now we need to think about the next games, and every time I try and win the game. We will see what happens, in the final. We'll see."
