Watford youngster Kane Crichlow provided the highlight of a difficult World Cup qualifier for Bermuda, scoring on his international debut as they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Canada.

The midfielder, who has made just a single first-team appearance for the Hornets, was rewarded for gambling in the 63rd minute when he was in the right place to capitalise after goalkeeper Milan Borjan had fumbled a cross.

By that stage though, Bermuda had already conceded three times through two first-half efforts from Cyle Larin before Richie Laryea added a third.

Larin went on to complete his hat-trick and Theo Corbeanu wrapped up the scoring for the Canadians, who had Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies in impressive form throughout the 90 minutes.

Two more Watford youngsters made their international debuts, lining up on opposing sides as Trinidad and Tobago beat Guyana 3-0 in their World Cup qualifier.

Midfielder Dan Phillips played the full 90 minutes in his first appearance for Trinidad, while defender Bayli Spencer-Adams came off the bench to feature for the majority of the second half in his international debut for their opponents.

Another Hornet to make his international bow was Andre Gray, who claimed an assist as Jamaica were beaten 4-1 by USA in a friendly.

The Jamaicans were 2-0 down when the Watford striker slipped a fine pass through the American defence for Swansea City forward Jamal Lowe to net on his international debut.

Meanwhile in European World Cup qualifiers, Craig Cathcart played the full 90 minutes as Northern Ireland went down to a 2-0 defeat in Italy.

Ken Sema had to settle for being an unused substitute as Sweden beat Georgia 1-0, while Daniel Bachmann was not involved in Austria’s 2-2 draw in Scotland.
