Ismaila Sarr has said he is happy at Watford for the time being, despite speculation surrounding his future.

The club's record signing was close to joining Manchester United last summer, according to former technical director Filippo Giraldi, while Liverpool and Crystal Palace have also made approaches to acquire his services.

However, the 23-year-old has said he is enjoying his football at Vicarage Road and that he is focused on pushing for promotion back to the Premier League.

"I think they are just rumours because I'm enjoying it here," said Sarr when asked about the speculation. "I still have three years on my contract and I'm focused on Watford and I want to say."

Sarr is hoping to get back to the top flight, not only for his sake, but for the fans as well, who he said pushed him to produce arguably his finest display for the club when Watford beat Liverpool 3-0 the last time Vicarage Road was full.

“Supporters give you that extra push, to win the game and to play as best you can,” he said.

Watford Observer:

“Now the supporters are not here, so we need to keep pushing in order to be ready for when they are back. Supporters make sacrifices to follow us, and supporters give us a push. All we can do is try to return something to them, and obviously go up and enjoy the moment together.”
