Watford have not agreed a deal with Galatasaray for Mbaye Diagne, the Watford Observer understands.

Several reports from Turkey have emerged over the last 24 hours suggesting that the player is discussing personal terms with the Hornets, with the clubs having agreed an €8million fee.

However, sources have since quashed those reports and say that there is no agreement in place at the moment.

Diagne is a player who Watford have looked at, and could still be someone they make a move for at some point this summer, however, it is not a deal that is close yet.

The Senegal forward scored a combined 14 goals in 34 appearances last season, three of which came for West Bromwich Albion following his loan move in January.

Whatever transfer business the Hornets do conduct this summer, they are keen to do it quickly, with approaches made for some players already, including Hibernian defender Josh Doig and Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

Meanwhile strikers Kwadwo Baah and former Middlesbrough man Ashley Fletcher have both agreed to join.
