Watford have agreed a deal to sign defender Mattie Pollock from Grimsby Town, the Watford Observer understands.
The 19-year-old centre back will join on a five-year deal with the Hornets, for a fee close to £100,000.
Pollock has been with the Mariners since February 2019 and scored three goals for them last season out of 25 appearances.
Despite his young age, he has already made 58 senior appearances in all competitions.
It is understood that he is not a player who will be used in the first team immediately and could spend the next season, or possibly even two, out on loan.
He is the son of former Middlesbrough midfielder Jamie Pollock.
