Invitation Cup Group A
AFC Leavesden defeated Railway Arms 1-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Watford Sunday League Invitation Cup, although they are yet to know their final group placing and thus their opponents in the last eight until the final group game between Rifle Volunteer and Langleybury CC is played on Sunday.
Alex Diaz’s long-range effort midway through the first half was enough to inflict a first defeat on Railway in this competition so far.
Junior Cup Quarter-Final
Chess United became the third side through to the semi-finals after a 2-1 win over Watford Sports.
Cameron Murray opened the scoring before Harry Wheeler added a second late on, but Sports pulled a goal back almost straight away through Sam Serrated.
Watford managed to hold on for the right to face AFC Bedmond for a place in the final this Sunday.
