Watford have announced the signing of free agent Danny Rose on a two-year deal.

The left-back's contract with Tottenham Hotspur comes to an end this month, leaving him free to join the Hornets.

After a medical yesterday, the defender put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Vicarage Road until at least June 2023, with the option of a further year.

Rose has featured for Watford before, making seven appearances on loan during the 2008/09 Championship campaign.

He has also spent time out on loan at Bristol City, Peterborough, Sunderland and Newcastle during his time at Spurs.

Altogether, he made 214 appearances for the North London club, scoring ten goals and providing 29 assists.

He could play against his former club on only the third week of the new season, with the Hornets set to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 28.
