Watford's captaincy has not been handed to any of their players on a long-term basis and will instead be shared between experienced squad members for the time being.
In the wake of Troy Deeney's departure, the issue of the captaincy has been discussed, with Tom Cleverley, Craig Cathcart and William Troost-Ekong all wearing the armband so far this season.
Head coach Xisco Munoz said he had options for the vacant skipper spot, but that it was more important that he had leaders in his squad.
"I have Ben Foster, we have Tom Cleverley, Ekong, Cathcart," said the head coach.
"It's the moment for the new young players to take one step forward. This is the situation. For me, we have a very good group of good players.
"Tom Cleverley always gives positive things, is always is working very hard. Ben Foster, Ekong, Kabasele, I can say names like this.
"But the most important is we have inside of the dressing room good leaders and this is the most important."
