Xisco Munoz is hoping to be Watford head coach for "a long time" yet, after celebrating his 40th game in charge of the club.

The boss marked the milestone after the win over Norwich at the weekend with a post on his personal social media channels that read: "Happy to reach 40 games as Watford manager! Happy to get there with a victory! Grateful for the support of the players, fans and club staff. We will keep going!"

While those 40 games include the pre-season friendlies played over the summer, it is a number that the previous three head coaches all failed to make, with Nigel Pearson and Vladimir Ivic both managing only 22 games, while Quique Sanchez Flores lasted just 12.

Speaking ahead of this evening's game against Stoke, Munoz said he was enjoying his time in England and that he hoped he would have more milestones to celebrate at Vicarage Road in the future.

"It's a pleasure to be manager of Watford," he said.

"I don't know how long I will stay here, but always I will say the same, I will work very hard and we will leave with the same ideas.

"I'm enjoying every day because it's important also to enjoy all the situations. I'm very happy with the club, very happy with the city, the fans, the team, with everyone. I want to stay here more time, I want to stay for a long time."

Tonight presents Munoz with a chance to enhance his already positive reputation among the club and its fans by progressing further in the Carabao Cup.

While going all the way in the competition would be a huge achievement for both the head coach and the club, Xisco insists that being a part of a club with an ethos and a reputation like Watford's is achievement enough for the time being.

"I don't know if we will win a trophy or not but Watford have one important thing and I think they taught me fast about this situation," he said.

"Our fans, the sentiment, the moments in the stadium, it's very important like this when you feel this situation.

"I don't know if we will win cups in the future or not, we're trying very hard and we're always working very hard, but most important is when you feel what I feel when I'm talking to people about our club. This is amazing and this is most important in life."
