Watford's Carabao Cup involvement was ended by Stoke City on a night when they threw all they had at their visitors but could only score once.
Here's how we rated the players' individual efforts
Rob Elliot - 6
Not a huge amount he could've done for any of the goals. A decent enough showing considering it was his first match since 2017.
Jeremy Ngakia - 5.5
Made a big mistake for the first goal, but to his credit recovered well in the second half and made some good contributions in attack.
Christian Kabasele - 6.5
Strong and solid in the centre. Not really at fault for any of the goals.
Francisco Sierralta - 6
A solid enough performance on his return.
Adam Masina - 5
Let too much come down his side and missed an absolute sitter.
Imran Louza - 5.5
Still looks a little lightweight, but made some decent passes.
Dan Gosling - 5
Missed some big chances while the game seemed to pass him by.
Ozan Tufan - 7
An impressive debut from the Turkish midfielder. Pressed well, carried the ball and looked positive, despite being a little rusty.
Cucho Hernandez - 6
Unlucky not to score with a header that struck the post, needs to work on his decision making.
Ken Sema - 6
Battled well out on the left but his final ball was sometimes lacking.
Ashley Fletcher - 6.5
Got in the right place to score his goal, had a number of other decent efforts saved. Was unfortunate.
SUBS
Moussa Sissoko - 5
Couldn't provide the impact required.
Emmanuel Dennis - 5
Struggled to get into the game, lost the ball in some good positions.
