Xisco Munoz was pleased with Watford's reaction as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Newcastle United but was disappointed with their overall display.
The Magpies arrived at Vicarage Road without a win so far this season, but took the lead in a first half in which they could have been out of sight, but squandered chances.
Ismaila Sarr's fourth of the season earned the Hornets a point from an edgy second half, taking their tally to seven.
After the game, the head coach said his side could not continue to hand out chances in the way they did during the match.
"I'm a little disappointed about the performance," said Munoz.
"I think we are more ready to have consistency in the games, to be more solid in defence and to be more aggresive in offence.
"It was not our best first half and after the reaction in the second half I think we were, for ten or 15 minutes trying to win the game.
"I need this ambition and this power all the game, not only in 20 minutes. I'm also disappointed about the last actions, we can't give these important chances to our opponents in the Premier League."
