Joshua King felt Watford's draw against Newcastle United was a fair result, but admitted the first half display was "not good enough".
Speaking to the club website after the match, the striker said that the result was probably the one the game deserved, as it ended with both sides pushing for the winner, and almost finding it.
"It felt like a basketball game, forward and back, back and forth, but if I'm being honest, I think a point is fair," said King.
"It was not good enough; they were better than us first half.
"It was a good game in the second half and when we got that goal, it lifted us and lifted the stadium and from then on it was mostly us, but they had some good counters as well and like I said, I think a point is fair."
King thought he had won the game not long before the end when he turned home Moussa Sissoko's parried shot on the rebound, but VAR was quick to intervene and showed that he had scored from an offside position.
The Norwegian had no qualms about the decision.
"I was offside, three of us were offside, so even if I wasn't they probably wouldn't have given it cause of the other two who would've been blocking the keeper's view," he said.
"I've never had VAR on my side, but it was offside and that's why we have VAR."
