Tributes have been pouring in to Watford “super fan” Kevin Norman after he was found dead in Venice.

Kevin Norman, 60, from Watford, is said to have never missed a game since the 90s, and his face is likely to be one well recognized amongst Hornets fans as he was commonly seen attending Watford and England games – both home and away.

However his body was found in a Venice canal shortly before the Three Lions World Cup qualifier on Monday (November 15).

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereI sat next to Kev on the coach to Sparta Prague in the early 80s, 20 hours there and 20 hours back. A horrendous journey in winter made totally bearable with his chat and banter. I dont think many got much sleep on the trip and I'm sure you could hear him chatting away from the front of the coach, whilst trying to get some sleep. Over the years, it would be a nod, a wink and a 'alright mate'. More recently, met him at a fans forum, had a pint, and talked about the trip to Prague and wondered if we would ever make these trips again with Watford. It will be a pity if/when it does happen and that he wont be there to share it. He would have deserved it. I know he will be sorely missed and I send my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereAbsolutely gutted when I heard of the news that Kev had left us. He was loyal to the core and always ready to chat and used to call me Shrewsbury Ray. He had time to chat with my son who knew him through me and also my sister. He will be deeply missed. RIP KEV TRUE HORNET

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereSending my condolences to Kevin’s family. Back in the day, Elton Johns Tailor made army, used to go to home and away matches with him. He was also a very passionate England supporter. He and others used to like ticking off different grounds that they have been, I have family in Northern Ireland. England were playing Northern Ireland, he asked if he could get tickets which my uncle got for us. Watched the match and that was another one he could tick off his list. RIP Kevin, from Steve. Love you lots.

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereKev was always there! I've been bumping into him at home and away games since the 70's - he will be sorely missed by all those that follow Watford (and England) home and away. There was always a smile not far away from Kev's face however badly the team were playing. A great character - Watford will be a lesser place without him. RIP Kevin x

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereI spent 15 years going to Watford home and away games with Kev. We had some awesome trips away and I'll never forget those memories we made. He was a top bloke, a gentleman and had Watford running through his veins. I can't thank him enough for everything he did for me. He truly was a legend and will be sorely missed.

Knowing Kevin he would be a little embarrassed by all the attention but secretly pleased. Watford FC was always a big part of his life and his absence will be felt all around the stadium. on Saturday sing loud & proud and celebrate his life as a true Golden boy.

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereGutted to read that you have left us mate, I will miss not having a chat in the pub at the grounds and above all, your passion for Watford FC. Only those who have a love for this club will understand what the club meant to you, the current owners don't. Kev knew that. RIP my friend.

From Pete

Share your memories of Kevin or words of respect hereVirtually everyone who has been regularly to an away game during the last 30 years will recognise him. Definitely heard him and more often than not shared a drink with him on a train, a pre match pub or in the ground. Kev’s name may not be instantly recognisable to a virtual audience because he wasn’t the sort to post online. He was old skool and going to the game with his mates was where it started and stopped. Going to EVERY game. He was tremendously supportive of the Supporters Trust in the early days. Both in making sure the message got through to the people who he went with, but also tangibly in donations and encouraging others to do likewise. His ludicrously awful death is a real shock. But Hornet Heaven has just let in someone who will proudly take his place with the great loyal fans of our club. I’m hopeful my boy and he hook up quickly. But GTs more than likely already made a beeline for Kev, so Fred will just have to queue up. A sad day. 2021 can do one.
