Pontus Dahlberg will spend the second part of the campaign at Gillingham after being recalled from his season-long loan spell at Doncaster Rovers.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper completed a temporary switch to South Yorkshire in the summer and made 20 league and cup appearances for Rovers.
The last of these came in the 1-0 home defeat to Fleetwood Town on January 8, but this was Dahlberg’s first start for Doncaster for seven matches after losing his place to Louis Jones.
The young Swede now moves to the side one place and two points above Rovers at the wrong end of League One where he will join fellow on-loan Hornets player Daniel Phillips.
