Joao Pedro has called for Watford to be more confident as they prepare for a tough game away at Burnley on Tuesday evening.

The Brazilian scored his second goal in as many games, following his goal away at Leicester City in the FA Cup, as the Hornets snatched a point from the jaws of defeat late on away at Newcastle.

While he realised the importance of the equaliser in the context of the Hornets' season, he called for his teammates to play with more belief at Turf Moor.

“It’s a very important goal which has granted us one point today, but we are already focusing on the next game,” he told the club website.

“[It felt like] a goal was in the air and in the end it came, so we are quite happy and it shows us that in the Premier League you can never give up.

“Today we have been able to score but we have to carry on now. We are going to be a bit more confident, we know how tough the next games are but we are ready.”

Pedro also praised new arrivals Edo Kayembe, Hassane Kamara and Samir, all of whom impressed on their debuts at St James' Park.

“I think they did very well considering this was their first game,” he added.

“They prepared very well, they were ready and I'm sure that now they'll be ready to perform in the Premier League.”
