Watford defender William Troost-Ekong scored for Nigeria in their 2-0 African Cup of Nations win over Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles rounded off a perfect group stage by sealing their third win from three, showing that they are one of the stronger teams progressing through to the knock out stages.

And it was a day to remember for Troost-Ekong who netted the second of the two goals, after he stayed up from a corner to prod home Moses Simon's effort that fell kindly to him off the crossbar.

It was only his second competitive goal for Nigeria and his first since he scored in a 2-1 AFCON quarter-finals against South Africa in 2019.

It also marked his second clean sheet at the competition, something the centre-back has been unable to achieve with the Hornets in the Premier League so far this season.

Elsewhere, Adam Masina played again as Morocco finished their group stage with a 2-2 draw against Gabon, while Imran Louza was given a rest.

They will also play in the round of 16, where they will meet Malawi on Tuesday, January 25.

Nigeria will play their next round match on Sunday, January 23 against a yet to be decided opponent.
