Claudio Ranieri has called on Watford supporters to cheer their side on to victory against Norwich City this evening, in what he knows is a big match.

The Hornets are looking to build on the point they salvaged at the death against Newcastle against another of their relegation rivals.

The Italian has called on the fans at Vicarage Road to play their part as best they can.

“This is very big. It was big against Newcastle, another crash between two teams who want to stay in the Premier League, and we need the support of our crowd," said Ranieri.

“We need the passion, we need everything and I am sure we will do a very good match.”

Both sides enter the fixture with a shift in momentum, with Dean Smith’s Norwich beating Everton 2-1 while Pedro was grabbing that equaliser on Tyneside.

That result moved the Canaries off the bottom and up to 18th, only one position and a single point off the Hornets, who are yet to drop into the relegation zone this season despite winning only four times in the top flight this term.

Ranieri added: “Yes of course, we have to win but we don’t want to lose.

“This is a very important match for us, for them and it is also a very good match for the Premier League.

"I see how my players work during training sessions, they are very focused on what we are doing. They have qualities and of course they train with heart and passion. We want to create a good atmosphere between us and the crowd and, together, push to give some good satisfaction for our fans and players as well."
