Watford’s new signing Hassane Kamara has made a heartfelt gesture to a Hornets fan whose mum caught coronavirus.

The left back spotted a tweet from a season ticket holder who said his mother was taken to hospital with a chest infection before catching Covid whilst inside.

The fan said on February 2: “She’s now back home and on the mend. Can I get some love from my #WatfordFC family for her please. Massive thanks to the #NHS.”

Kamara saw the tweet the next day and responded with a lovely gesture by offering a shirt.

He said: “With all our strength! Would a @WatfordFC jersey make you happy?"

The gesture was noted by Hornets fans who took to twitter praising Kamara for offering the jersey.

One said: “It may take time to fit into the team at our club but by this gesture you have shown you already have embraced the spirit and heart of @WatfordFC. Huge respect to you."

And another added: “What a nice gesture Hassane, you seem to be taking in the family ethos of our club very quickly, full credit to you.”

Watford legend Luther Blissett also praised Kamara, adding: “What a nice gesture from the lad.”

Kamara was signed by Watford in the January transfer window on a three-and-a-half-year deal, for a fee understood to be around £4million.
