Watford have this morning played down reports that they are in talks with LA Galaxy over a potential loan move for William Troost-Ekong.
Club sources say they have received no calls from the Major League Soccer side, after claims in America suggested they were interested in signing the Nigeria captain temporarily.
Earlier this season, Hornets striker Ashley Fletcher moved to the States to play for New York Red Bulls and a move for Troost-Ekong to the same league would be possible.
However, as of yet, an official approach does not seem to have been made.
That could well change if Galaxy are indeed interested in signing the player, who may be seeking a move away from Vicarage Road, with his playing time cut short since Roy Hodgson's arrival.
He is yet to play a minute of football for Watford under Hodgson and will be looking to retain his spot as Nigeria captain, particularly with another African Cup of Nations to prepare for next year.
