Christian Kabasele believes Watford let their supporters down with what he described as the "worst season" since he joined the club.
The Hornets finished the campaign in 19th place, having lost 27 of their 38 Premier League matches, winning only six of them throughout the entire season.
Kabasele also pointed to the club's dismal home form, with only eight points picked up at Vicarage Road from a possible 57, and thanked the fans for their continued support during such a poor run.
On Instagram, the defender wrote: "Without a doubt the worst season since I joined the club. We were simply not good enough to compete at this level and worst we let you down too many times at home.
"Even in those circumstances you always supported us through this tough journey so thank you for that and next season another challenge to face and another chance to get back to the best league in the world. Take care and once again thank you."
