Watford have added another friendly to their pre-season schedule and will play Panathinaikos on the final day of their training camp in Austria.
The Hornets had been due to face Qatar while they were abroad, but that game was cancelled following protests by supporters’ groups because of the nation’s oppressive policies to homosexuality, human rights and women’s rights.
The friendly against Panathinaikos, who finished fourth in the Greece Super League last season and won the Greek Cup, will be played on Sunday, July 10 at 12.30pm UK time in Walchsee.
Watford’s revised pre-season schedule is:
- Sunday, July 10 – Watford v Panathinaikos (12.30pm).
- Tuesday, July 12 – Watford v Bolton Wanderers (3pm at London Colney, behind closed doors).
- Saturday, July 16 – Watford v Wycombe Wanderers (1pm at London Colney, behind closed doors).
- Tuesday, July 19 – Millwall v Watford (7pm at The Den).
- Saturday, July 23 – Watford v Southampton (3pm at Wealdstone FC, Grosvenor Vale).
