If you fancy a chance to watch the young Watford players in action, then you can see the club’s Under-21 team take on Hitchin Town tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

The friendly at Top Field kicks off at 7.30pm, and admission prices are Adults £8, Concessions (aged 60-79) £5; Teenagers £2; Over-80s Free; Under-13s (must be accompanied by an adult) £1.

Hitchin’s Top Field stadium is a 20-minute walk from Hitchin station (which is on the King’s Cross to Cambridge and Peterborough line). For those planning to drive, the ground is on Fishponds Road, SG5 1NU.

Watford sent a near full-strength first-team and won a pre-season friendly 5-0 at Hitchin on Wednesday July 15, 1998...and we all know what happened at the end of that season.

That night Allan Smart and Michel Ngonge scored twice, with the fifth goal coming from Nathan Lowndes.

• The Hornets Under-21s will also play another local game on Tuesday August 2 (kick off 7.30pm) when they visit Kings Langley.
