Watford are close to completing the signing of striker Keinan Davis on loan from Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old is undergoing a medical at London Colney and the Watford Observer understands the forward is poised to complete a season-long switch to Vicarage Road.
Head coach Rob Edwards has said from the outset that he wanted to recruit a young, homegrown forward and has previously told the Watford Observer he was prepared to be patient to get the players he wants.
However, with talks continuing with Nottingham Forest over the sale of Emmanuel Dennis, Watford are potentially poised to replace him with a player who scored five goals in 15 league appearances at the City Ground last season to help Forest reach the top flight via the play-offs.

Born in Stevenage, the 6ft 3in forward has clocked up 73 league appearances for Villa, the majority of which have been from the bench.
