Rey Manaj now officially has his first Watford goal after the EFL confirmed that he did score Watford’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Birmingham City on Tuesday night.

The goal was originally credited to Ken Sema but video replays showed the summer signing did get the final touch and this has now been confirmed.

Manaj was deliberate in his celebrations in pointing out that he had scored and Rob Edwards smiled: “He was very clear!

“It’s a great boost for him and of course we need people to score goals. He’s another one who’s come from another country and we’ve got a competitive group.

"You’ve got to earn it (selection) and you’ve got to earn it with working really hard and being reliable and being a real good team player. And I thought when he came on the other day he showed those things and he was rewarded with the goal as well.

“I’m pleased for him and he’s got to keep it going.”
