Memories in pictures of Watford career of Ross Jenkins

Signed from Crystal Palace for £30,000 in November 1972, Jenkins scored only 17 goals in his first three seasons at Vicarage Road and was transfer listed at the end of the 1974/75 season.

But Jenkins remained at Watford and was to win over the boo boys as he became an integral part of the club’s rise up the divisions, scoring a total of 142 goals in just shy of 400 appearances in all competitions for the club.

It seems almost unthinkable in the context of how football has developed since, but Jenkins played for the Hornets when they both rock bottom of Division Four and at the summit of Division One.
