The Watford Observer’s Watford correspondent has appeared on a number of media outlets this season – and this week Italian TV viewers got to hear Andrew French's thoughts on the Hornets.

Andrew was a guest on the football chat programme Bianconero on the Telefriuli channel which was broadcast on Monday evening.

The interview was recorded in advance so his answers could be dubbed into Italian and viewers heard Andrew’s thoughts on several topics.

He began by explaining how this season had been a “massive underachievement and a huge disappointment”, how the players had underperformed and the appreciation among Watford fans for what the Pozzo ownership had delivered in the past, including six seasons in the Premier League and an FA Cup final appearance.

Andrew also discussed the possibility of new investment into the club and the relationship between Watford and Udinese.

He said: “I’ve often been asked by Italian media and websites to discuss Watford, Udinese and the Pozzos but this was the first (and possibly last!) time I’ve been asked to do TV.

“The topics were the sort of things I’d expect and their main interest seemed to be the perception of the Pozzos and Udinese among Watford fans.

“I recorded my segment a few days in advance so they could then dub my answers. I think I sound better, and more intelligent, in Italian.”
