Lee Williamson would like to sign for Preston North End if Brendan Rodgers decides he no longer wants the midfielder at Watford.

The 26-year-old moved to Deepdale on loan on deadline day on Thursday of last week and believes the club can reach the play-offs.

Williamson, who joined the Hornets from Rotherham United in January 2007, has only joined North End until the end of the season, but would not mind making his stay permanent.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post: “I’ve got another season left on my contract at Watford, but I’m not sure where my future is going to be. I am going to have to sit down with the club and talk about it.

“It would be down to the gaffer [Rodgers] and how much he wants to keep me or not keep me.

“But from what I have seen so far here, Preston is definitely a club I would like to sign for if things could be sorted out.”
