Watford have confirmed striker Nathan Ellington is on trial with Premiership-side Blackburn Rovers.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is taking a look at Ellington with a view to taking the striker on loan.
Ellington has not enjoyed a successful spell at Watford since joining from West Bromwich Albion in 2007 for £3.25m.
After scoring just four times in 38 appearances for the Hornets, Ellington was loaned out to Derby last season for £1.5m, with a view to a free transfer this summer.
However, Rams boss Nigel Clough did not want the 28-year-old and he returned to Watford.
Ellington has scored one goal in four substitute appearances during the ‘Orns pre-season.
The former Wigan man is one of the club’s highest earners and it is believed Watford are keen to remove the striker from their wage bill.
